OSU Extension Lasagna - Grades 5 & 6
You may not know this, but technically, Lasagna did not originate in Italy. Its origin can be traced way back to Ancient Greece. The name Lasagna, or “Lasagne” is derived from the Greek word 'Laganon'; the first known form of pasta.
Italian immigrants brought their favorite variations to America beginning in the late 1800s. While some prefer a meatier sauce made with pork or ground beef, others added roasted vegetables and spinach to the layers. We will try an Americanized “quick” version of the saucy favorite.
Small teams of 3 will be provided direct instruction in the process of prepping ingredients, creating and taste-testing a delicious Quick Lasagna.
Kitchen skills we will be practicing while making Wontons:
